What is Microdosing Psilocybin?
Microdosing is the future of wellness. It involves taking a very low (sub-threshold) dosage of a psychedelic, such as psilocybin, from magic mushrooms. Despite producing no hallucinogenic effects, those who practice microdosing report a wide range of positive health benefits. Recently this has been verified by scientific research which has found psychedelics to be highly effective at treating depression and other mental health complaints…
How to microdose with psilocybin
Once you have purchased your psilocybin Microdosing XP Psilocybin Strip, getting started is easy:
We recommend that you wash down your microdose with water like a pill rather than chewing. This means that the psilocybin magic is slowly released throughout the day, creating sustained effect. Because of this we also recommend taking on a full stomach, i.e. after breakfast. This also prevents steep come-ups / come-downs as well as reducing nausea if you are prone to it.
So basically: Get up. Eat Breakfast. Swallow 1 portion (1g of magic truffles) of Microdosing XP with water. Start your day…

FAQ
As a rule, we do not recommend that you microdose every day. This could reduce the desired positive benefits. However, there are two methods that remain the most popular. These are:
Option 1:
Every 3 days. This consists of microdosing on the 1st day of your choice and then not microdosing again for the next two. So: Dose, rest, rest, dose, etc. On your rest days you are likely to feel the continued afterglow of your microdose. This is also known as the ‘Fadiman Method’ as it was perfected and popularised by psychedelic guru James Fadiman
Option 2:
Every other day. Microdose on your chosen day, rest the second. Then repeat. Easy!
There are many reported benefits of microdosing psilocybin. These are from both scientific research as well as reams of anecdotal accounts.
The benefits tend to be:
- Improved mental health (such as a reduction in anxiety and depression symptoms)
- Enhanced performance
- Improved and eased social interactions
- Improved creativity
- An increase in energy
- Higher focus
- Increased concentration
- Relief from physical symptoms (such as tension, head and muscle aches)
- Soothed menstrual cramps and mood.
Swallow your microdose (1g of magic truffles) with water on a full stomach. Repeat either every 3 days or every other day, depending on what suits you. You can also choose to microdose just when the symptoms of complaints such as cluster headaches or premenstrual tension arise.
We do not recommend microdosing every day. This is because with continuous use you can build up a tolerance to psilocybin, and hence would not reap the benefits of the microdose. Many people also recommend completing a microdose cycle of 3 to 6 weeks and then reviewing your experience. Journal how you felt each day and over time — were the effects too mild / too strong? This way you can discover what is the right routine for you.
Psilocybin microdosing has recently garnered some well deserved attention. In the 2010s it became a hit with Silicon Valley, a tool for optimising their already optimised brains. As interest grew, scientists were able to back it up through real research.Over the last 5 years, microdosing took huge steps to break into the mainstream consciousness as well as the medical arena.
The idea of taking a psychedelic substance to “not to trip” sounds a little strange to some. Is there any point? So, why would anyone microdose? Well, psilocybin microdosing (one of the main focuses of microdosing studies) has proved to have many benefits:
- An increase in creativity, alertness and focus
- More energy and enthusiasm
- A greater awareness and connection to one’s surroundings
- More open and appreciative to social settings and forming relationships
If these benefits sound too good to be true, there is a wealth of testimonial and growing clinical evidence to support these claims. It’s exciting!
This full history of microdosing is hard to be certain of, but the practice most likely dawned from the creation of LSD (way back in the 1930s). Although there is no ‘hard’ evidence, one can be sure that if there were mind-altering substances about, people were experimenting.
But, let’s jump forward to the year 2011, for this is when microdosing made its true debut on the world stage — ushered in by psychedelic pioneer: James Fadiman.
In 2011 Fadiman published The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide, (a great read for any psychonaut or science fan). It introduced the idea of microdosing to the mainstream and broadened the conversation on psychedelics in general.
In the book, Fadiman laid out a regulated and simple schedule of how a person should microdose. The standard routine he encouraged was a course of taking a morning microdose once every three days (see Option 1).
While the numerous trip reports stood as strong evidence for the case of microdosing, the fight for true experimentation for future use had to be taken up by larger, more in-depth studies with the ability to gain proper government clearance.
Small scale clinical studies and trials started to take place in both the US and across Europe around the 2010s. With the growing reputable data, microdosing as a practice was starting to build a case for itself.
Many more trials are taking place as we speak, and the 2020s stands to be a year of great advancement for psychedelic microdosing as a cutting edge medical practice.
Though the field of microdosing as a science is not much older than a teen, the evidence so far has been largely encouraging. There is no doubt it will become a regular practice over the coming decade. For many people it already is.
Due to hard working researchers and influencers carrying out both trials and awareness campaigns, the world of psychedelic microdosing grows every day. Its history and promising future increasingly cements it as a major development in the world of pharmaceuticals.
It is not recommended to microdose everyday. We recommend that you microdose our fresh magic truffle strips, one dose – every 3 days or every second day in order to guarantee the best results. This is to give your system the rest it needs.
Yes it can – small amounts of psilocybin will not produce “high” effects, but will have subtle effects, like alleviating mental barriers, like anxiety and depression.

Both microdosing on LSD and microdosing on psilocybin produce similar results – feelings of productivity, better headspace for introspection, and uplifting mood. The biggest difference is that psilocybin mushrooms are grown naturally, and LSD is a synthetic drug from a laboratory.
This comes down to preference – many prefer ingesting a more natural, “earthy,” experience; since LSD is a manmade drug, there is the conversation and concern of where it’s really coming from. Both do not have harmful bodily effects, but it’s always best to play it safe. Magic truffles may be preferred because it’s legal in The Netherlands, and web shops like Wholecelium can guarantee better success rates and stand by our product (because they’re natural).
Our Microdosing XP shelf life is 2 months unopened.
